The Rocket was a monthly alternative music and culture magazine based in Seattle and distributed for free. It was printed on newsprint, and in the early days of the magazine there was only enough budget for three-color covers. The Rocket was a magnet for visual talent. Art directors and designers included Mark Michaelson, Helene Silverman, Art Chantry, Jesse Marinoff Reyes, Kate Thompson, Dale Yarger, Wes Anderson, Norman Hathaway, and many more. I designed a number of covers for The Rocket. I was also the editor from 1982-86.
