Dennis P. Eichhorn’s Real Good Stuff
It’s very good news anytime Dennis P. Eichhorn publishes a new comic book collection, and his latest, Real Good Stuff #1 & #2 is a total delight. Eichhorn is known for his Real Stuff comics published in the 90s, slice-of-life gonzo autobiographical graphic novels packed with great stories and a stellar crew of artists. Eichhorn is often compared to American Splendor‘s Harvey Pekar, but his comics have a lot less angst and a lot more sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll (and a much higher quality of artwork, too). Eichhorn writes the stories; the artwork in Real Good Stuff is by Mary Fleener (she did the #2 cover), Jim Blanchard, Sean Hurley, Pat Moriarity, and Aaron Lange, among others. Published by Poochie Press, Real Good Stuff was financed through a Kickstarter campaign (I was a contributor), and is available for only $10 plus shipping. Real Good Stuff is real brilliant stuff, and is the bargain holiday present of the season (although it’s definitely NSFW, 18-and-over).
Dennis P. Eichhorn’s Real Stuff stories are now being posted on Boing Boing, which has a big collection available for reading and viewing pleasure.
