Inside was a newsmagazine that covered technology, business and entertainment, as the print component of the Inside.com website. Pentagram collaborated on the initial design. The entire startup, from beginning to first printed issue, took five weeks. We developed a tightly-formatted look, with elements that drew on 1960s magazines like Time and Ramparts for inspiration, while at the same time using bold modern digital illustration and photography. The design was structured to accommodate a fast and low-budget production system. The magazine featured extensive graphics, tables, and charts, all of them produced in-house.
The photo and design staff of 10 included designers Andrew Horton, Kate Elazegui, Victor Williams, and Heather Jones.
