Alt-Weekly Comics Panel at the MoCCA Arts Festival

The MoCCA Arts Festival will feature an Alt-Weekly Comics panel on April 12 at the High Line Hotel in New York City. Moderated by Society of Illustrators Alt-Weekly Comics exhibit co-curator Bill Kartalopoulos, the panel will include cartoonists Mark Newgarden, Ben Katchor, and Michael Kupperman, as well as myself. I was the art director of the Seattle Sun, The Rocket, and The Village Voice, as well as editor of The Rocket and comics editor at the LA Weekly. From the late 1970s- early 1990s I worked with a great series of alternative cartoonists, and we’ll be sharing a lot of cool history.
